The Birth Story is a voice-first way to tell the story of a birth, whether it happened last month or thirty years ago, and turn it into a finished page you can keep, share, and give. You talk. We help it become something you are proud to hand to someone.
Most people know that their own birth, or their child's, was a big day. Far fewer have the story of it written down. Writing feels like homework. Talking does not. So we start with talking.
Birth is also remembered by more than one person, and usually only one version gets told. The partner who stood at the bedside, the parent who was in the room, and the grandmother who waited by the phone each have a piece of it. The Birth Story is built to hold more than one voice.
This is what we are building. Details may change as we test it with real families.
Put in headphones, take a walk, and answer a few gentle prompts out loud. Walking is an invitation, not a requirement. You can record while feeding a baby, resting, or commuting. It works in a browser on your phone, with no app to download.
Your recording is transcribed and shaped into a first-person account. You choose how much changes: your exact words, a light polish, or a more shaped story. Names and facts get a review step before anything is final, because a story with the wrong name in it is not your story.
Listen to the draft read back to you and speak your changes: go back, replace that sentence, keep my exact words, undo. When it sounds right, you approve it.
When you approve it, you get a designed page that is private by default, a PDF you can print, and your original audio underneath it. Everything you made, the audio, the transcript, the text, and the PDF, can be exported at any time.
A parent tells the story of an older or adult child's birth, the day they were born, as a finished keepsake to hand over on a birthday, Mother's Day, Father's Day, or at the holidays. No planner needed.
After a recent birth, tell it while it is still vivid. If you used the free Birth Planner and choose to, what you hoped for going in can help shape the questions. Planned to follow the holiday launch.
Give a family member or friend a code to redeem when they are ready, for their own story or the story of one of their children's births.
Think about what a grown child would want to hold on to: their own birth story, told by the person who was there, in that person's voice. A parent records it at their own pace, approves the finished page, and hands it over in a card on the day. It takes no shelf space, and it is something only that parent can give.
Or work from the other direction. If you want your mother or father to tell the story of your birth, a gift code lets them do it on their own schedule.
We are aiming to open this for the holidays. Join the list and we will tell you first, including the last dates to order and to record so a finished story arrives in time.
Join the ListEach parent can record separately, before either hears the other's account. Each person gets their own intact story. Later, we plan to offer a combined version that alternates both perspectives across the same night. Where two memories differ, both stay, side by side, with each person's name on their own words. We do not decide who is right.
Each person approves their own story and every excerpt that is attributed to them. If one parent chooses not to take part, the other still gets a complete story. Nobody is pressured to invite anyone. The two-voice version is planned for after the holiday launch.
Your page is unlisted unless you decide otherwise. You choose who can see it and who can hear the original audio.
AI helps with transcription and drafting. You decide how much it changes, and your original audio, transcript, draft, and final version are kept so you can go back.
Any prompt can be skipped. Birth can be hard to remember, and this is a keepsake, not a treatment. If remembering is painful, please talk with your care provider or a mental health professional.
The full export of what you made is yours at any time, including the audio. Privacy terms specific to the Birth Story will be published before it launches.
Leave your email and what you are interested in. We will write to you about the Birth Story only, and you can ask us to stop at any time.
Not ready yet? The free Birth Planner is available now and is where the two-person story begins.
